A Nurse's Compassion
Nune still remembers what it felt like to need someone to notice her.

Today, she stands beside a hospital bed in her nurse’s uniform, gently adjusting an IV and offering a reassuring smile to a patient.

“You’ll feel better soon,” she says warmly.

Her compassion comes from knowing what it feels like to be in desperate need herself.

At just six years old, Nune arrived at one of our hostels with her younger brother, their small hands tightly holding onto one another. Their mother, trapped in prostitution, was unable to provide the care and stability they needed. Childhood was marked by uncertainty and vulnerability, burdens no child should ever have to carry.

Without intervention, Nune’s future could have followed the same difficult path. But God had another story for her life.

At the hostel, Nune found more than shelter, she found family. House parents became spiritual parents, surrounding her with love, care, and guidance. For the first time, she experienced stability, nutritious meals, and the opportunity to receive a quality education.

And she flourished.

With support from her hostel family, Nune pursued her dream of becoming a nurse. After completing her vocational training as a multipurpose health worker, she recently began her first job as a staff nurse at a private hospital.

Today, Nune is standing on her own feet and building a future filled with hope.

Yet she hasn’t forgotten where she came from.

“I want to be His witness and help children in need like I once was,” she says.

Because of your support, stories like Nune’s are possible. By investing in vulnerable children, you are helping break cycles of poverty and exploitation and creating lasting change for generations to come.

Thank you for investing in lives like Nune’s.
